Smugglers Moorings LTD

Posted on 12 Feb 2014

We have been working hard at winning the tenancy to the Smugglers Cottage at Tolverne on the Roseland Peninsula, just up the river north of the King Harry Ferry. This iconic and idyllic location has been up for tenancy for a while and the site closed for the 2013 season. We are very excited to have been successful and looking forward in taking the Smugglers forward into its next era, Smugglers Moorings Limited.

Our business plan is to run the site as a mooring facility and yacht haven with facilities on site that cannot be found north of Mylor Yacht Harbour. Our discreet approach to this sensitive site will see us running a low impact boating haven with moorings available for both permanent moorings and visitors alike, whilst maintaining the site and being sympathetic to its location and history.

The cottage was built to house the ferryman that connected those on the Roseland to Truro and will return to this by being a residence only for ourselves and our young son Ted. We are working closely with the Estate to re-establish the site and its purpose and the unbeatable access that it has to the water will be its primary use. There will not be a cafe or pub on site as we go through this process.

With amazing shore side access, ample car parking, deep and incredibly sheltered water from all directions just a short way from fantastic sailing waters of the Carrick Roads and the manager living on site overlooking your vessel, is there anywhere better to moor your boat?

We can offer:
